JDBY/YTT gets $2,000,000 pledge from a single donor
The Background
Established 60 years ago, JDBY/YTT is the largest Jewish day school in Chicago, faithfully servicing over 1450 students each day. They provide a strong Jewish and secular education in a warm, loving environment that enables the children to thrive.
The Challenge
JDBY/YTT needed additional funds for their building campaign and had already exhausted their current donor base who were experiencing donor fatigue. They approached Better Co., requesting a 4-page brochure so they could solicit additional donations from their long-standing core donors. Better Co. rejected the idea of creating a tired, overused brochure. Instead, they developed something different and unique.

The Solution

Better Co. developed a custom-created video for each core donor, delivered inside a unique gift box built with a video screen that automatically started playing once opened.

The Results
The first donor pledged $2,000,000 on the spot when presented with this gift.
The donors felt appreciated and display the crystal gift at home or in their office— every time they look at it, they are still connecting emotionally to the school.
Money raised during this campaign totaled $10 million.
